For many expectant mothers, getting to a prenatal appointment might seem simple, but for families without reliable transportation, it can be one of the biggest barriers to a healthy pregnancy. At Phoenix Birth Initiative, we’ve seen firsthand how something as basic as a ride can make all the difference.

Prenatal care is about check ups, prevention, connection, and peace of mind. When a mother misses an appointment because she can’t find a way to get there, she misses out on vital care that can detect complications early, provide important education, and strengthen the bond between families and their healthcare providers. Unfortunately, this challenge is all too common in low income communities across the Phoenix area, where limited access to cars or public transportation leaves many women feeling isolated and unsupported.

That’s why our mission is focused on breaking that barrier. Through our transportation services, we’re helping expectant mothers attend their appointments on time, access healthcare, and build confidence knowing they’re not alone. But it’s more than just a ride, it’s a lifeline that connects families to the resources, education, and emotional support they need to welcome their babies into a safe and healthy environment.

As we restart operations this fall, our commitment remains the same: to make sure every mother, regardless of her circumstances, has access to the care she deserves. Because when transportation isn’t a barrier, healthier births, and brighter futures become possible.

3. Expect a call within 48 hours to arrange pickup.

4. Schedule a convenient pickup time.

5. Receive tow operator details.

6. Your vehicle will be sold to support our cause.

7. Receive a thank you letter within 30 days (acts as a tax receipt for sales under $500).

8. For sales over $500, expect an IRS Form 1098-C within 30 days.
